Meditation Stones

As an aid to meditation place these small stones in a pattern of your choosing.

Look at the stones and think.

How do you feel?

How do the stones feel (usually hard)?

Think some more

Is this configuration bringing you happiness? Is it bringing the stones happiness?

Think some more

Would a different configuration be better? For you or the stones?

Try it! move them again.

Do you find happiness or the realisation that you are an adult rearranging stones, that emptying your mind can be taken too far, that there must be a better use of your time than this and that if you can't find a way to achieve happiness for yourself you could do worse than finding it for someone else.

Perhaps you could buy them some meditation stones.

I hope you enjoy these stones, I particularly like the one I retrieved from my bike tyre, it make a ticking sound as I rode along which bounced back from the stone walls reminding me of the relentless onward march of time, the permanence of some human impact on the landscape and the fleeting moment of existence for we who ride bicycles in front of tractors. The stone I found in my shoe I liked less initially but, as it had walked a mile in my shoes, it represents our shared experience and pain.

Mindfulness Wand

Consider the wand. Which way does it want to be held?

Which end seems most 'handle'y and which needs to swish freely?

Or are you going to hold it in the middle? does this make you quirky or indecisive?

Do you point it up down or straight in front of you?
This can tell you a lot about yourself: that you are the sort of person who likes to point a wand up, down or straight ahead.

These insights are important but not as important as the greater truth which this precision engineered device is able to deduce even before you pick it up: you are the sort of person who will buy a stick if it has the right marketing

The wand is traditionally associated with fairies (can't stand them myself, insipid little creatures) but it is found in many cultures. This wand is based upon designs used by the ancient kings of the great elf territories of the north, from the time before our people were enslaved. It was sustainably harvested from managed woodlands and carefully crafted in such a way as to retain many of its original features. To the untrained eye it would appear to be a simple stick.

Philosophy Cup

This product addresses the most fundamental of questions in the development of positive mental attitude.

Half fill the cup with liquid and consider your attitude to it.
Do you consider it to be half full or half empty?

Does you opinion of it vary if you consider it when it is half way from the empty state to plenitude, or if it is on the opposite journey, pausing on its route back to emptiness?

But is it truly ever empty? Even with the absence of liquid it contains memories of refreshment past and anticipation of imbibement yet to come.

For those of a more literal mind set, even when 'empty' it is still full of various gases, so it is never truly empty unless placed in a vacuum.

If your cup floweth over, perhaps you should buy another one.

Note: Cups are supplied empty.
